Children are the Teachers
A quote that circles around the internet alot is :
"One day your parents picked you up and sat you down for the last time."
"One day all of your friends went inside from playing and never went back out again."
These are true.
What also is true is- one day you sat down your paint brush in school and never picked it up again.
One day you plucked the strings of your favorite instrument for the last time.
Who knows what year it was you last made your mom or dad a homemade card.
Who knows when you stopped scribbling short stories in your notebook, certain you were going to become a writer.
We're introduced to and experience so much magic at a young age.
All of our interest are encouraged and the question "am I good at this" never even enters our mind.
I pray as we age, we find this magic in our day to day lives again.
That we can feel the infinity we did swinging on the swing with our eyes closed, singing loudly with our friends.
That we can feel the excitement we felt when something as simple as a book fair
or pizza party was promised.
I pray we once again find sacredness in the small moments.
That we feel overwhelming joy when we see our families and friends.
That we wake up ready to laugh and play
and stop taking life so seriously.
